Mission: The mission of Delta Sigma Phi is to build better men.

    Core Values
    :
Delta Sigma Phi has three core values:
    • Culture- membership in Delta Sigma Phi encourages the individual and the chapter in their pursuit of knowledge and intellectual development
    • Harmony- Delta Sigma Phi men are committed to high standards of moral conduct and to bettering themselves and the world around them
    • Friendship- forged by The Ritual and their oaths of membership, Delta Sigs form lifelong friendships based in values and secured by honesty, integrity, and care

Vision: Delta Sigma Phi will set the standard for excellence for life-long fraternity.  The Fraternity will realize this vision through the implementation of policies and initiatives that achieve the following:

    • Delta Sigma Phi members will be known for their reputation as scholars, leaders, and gentlemen
    • Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity will be recognized and respected for its support of the academic mission of host institutions
    • The Delta Sigma Phi experience will be endorsed by parents who will encourage membership for undergraduate men
    • Delta Sigma Phi men will be sought after by civic, business, and professional leaders

Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity will provide leadership for a lifetime by forging bonds of friendship and brotherhood that are the bedrock of social development

Being a Founder of the Colony at Kent State UniversityBeing a Founder (or “Founding Father”) means that you are part of the first group of men involved in Delta Sigma Phi at Kent State’s campus. There is no one before you at Kent State. You have the opportunity to start your own traditions and do not have to worry about breaking the negative traditions set by those before you, which can be difficult.

You will be a chartering member of Delta Sigma Phi which means that your name will be on the Charter at Kent State (the official document that signifies you are an official chapter of Delta Sigma Phi). Only a select few men in the country have the opportunity to be a part of something like this. You will be remembered forever at Kent State’s chapter as one of the members that took on the challenge of starting the organization. You could come back and visit the chapter to point out your name on the charter to your grandchildren.

    Hazing
Delta Sigma Phi does not tolerate hazing. It has no place in the fraternity and is strictly forbidden. Furthermore, students joining the colony at Kent State University will have the chance to make sure that hazing never becomes a tradition at their chapter.

Pledging There is also no “pledging” as founding fathers or as part of Delta Sigma Phi. There is a time period where the students have the chance to get to know the fraternity better and decide whether it is for them or not, but there is no pledge period like in most fraternities where they are required to do mundane tasks to prove their commitment to the fraternity.

  • Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity Colony:

Membership in Pi Kappa Alpha gives students the opportunity to make the most of their college experience. Perhaps the best opportunity that Pi Kappa Alpha provides is the ability to cultivate a socially superior man.For more information on the colony of Pi Kappa Alpha (PIKE) at Kent State University, please contact current colony president Alex Shahidian at ashahid1@kent.edu.

Mission: Pi Kappa Alpha is dedicated to developing men of integrity, intellect, and high moral character and to fostering a truly lifelong fraternal experience. To fulfill this mission, Pi Kappa Alpha will:

    • Encourage all our members to live the values taught in our ritual.
    • Provide innovative services and programs designed to enrich the lives of our undergraduates, alumni, and communities.
    • Create opportunities for our undergraduate and alumni members to participate in the life of Pi Kappa Alpha on a daily basis.
    • Promote and foster a spirit of pride, loyalty, inclusion and respect for Pi Kappa Alpha and its rich history.
    • Empower our undergraduate and alumni members to help shape Pi Kappa Alpha's future by being informed ambassadors and involved advocates.
    • Communicate effectively and efficiently with our alumni, students and host institutions through various channels on a continuous basis.
    • Value academic achievement and practice academic integrity.
    • Establish positive and lasting relationships with our host institutions, alumni and communities.
    • Encourage our members to be of strong mind and body.

Vision: Pi Kappa Alpha will set the standard of integrity, intellect, and achievement for our members, host institutions, and the communities in which we live.
