Delta Upsilon Dylan Fitzgerald Carlton Scholarship

Male Kent State students may apply for the Delta Upsilon Dylad Fitzgerald Carlton Scholarship.  Preference will be given to male students of sophomore, junior, or senior standing who have a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA and demonstrate active participation in leadership or extracurricular activities such as sports, clubs, or community service.  Incoming freshmen students may apply as long as they have a minimum GPA of 2.50 and a 21 ACT or 980 SAT score.  Students must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credits at the Kent Campus of Kent State University each semester to be eligible.

2009-10 Founders Arch Awards and Accreditation Process

The 2009-10 Founders Arch packet is required to be submitted by each Interfraternity Council Fraternity and Panhellenic Council Sorority.  The completed award packet should be submitted no later than April 21, 2010 by 12:00 pm to the Center for Student Involvement, Assistant Director for Greek Affairs, 226 Kent Student Center.  Questions about Founders Arch can be sent to Teniell Trolian, Assistant Director for Greek Affairs, at ttrolian@kent.edu.

Award criteria for Founders Arch includes the following categories:

  • Academic Excellence
  • Involvement and Leadership Education
  • Civic Responsibility
  • Education for New and Continuing Members
  • Risk Reduction and Education
  • Chapter Operations

2010 Order of Omega Emerging Leader Award

The Kent State University Order of Omega chapter has created a new Emerging Leader Award to recognize the next generation of community members working toward achieving their full leadership potential.  Order of Omega will be sponsoring two Emerging Leader Awards - one will recognize a fraternity man and one will recognize a sorority woman.  To be eligible for the award, applicants must:

  • Be a first or second year student at Kent State
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the founding purposes of the Greek Community - scholarship, service, leadership, and social excellence
  • Be actively involved in their chapter and the Greek Community
  • Mantain a minimum 3.00 GPA
  • Obtain a recommendation letter from one member of their chapter's executive board

2010 Chapter President Award

The 2010 Chapter President Award will be given to one fraternity president and one sorority president who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, and commitment to fraternal values. 

Nominees Must:

 

- Have been president of their fraternity/sorority during any one of the following terms of office:
    Fall 2008-Spring 2009
    Spring 2009-Fall 2009
    Fall 2009-Spring 2010
- Have junior or senior standing
- Have a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA (this will be verified by the Center for Student Involvement)

2009-10 IFC and Panhellenic Awards

The Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils are proud to co-sponsor two new awards for the 2009-10 academic year:

These two award applications are due on April 21st and will be presented at Closing Ceremonies on May 6, 2010.

 


 
2009-10 Greek Man and Woman of the Year

2010 Greek Alumni Chapter Scholarship

The Kent State University Greek Alumni Chapter is currently accepting applications for its 2010-11 Student Scholarship Award.  The GAC will present a $500 scholarship to an undergraduate fraternity or sorority leader during its Distinguished Alumni and Senior Recognition Brunch on Saturday, March 6th.   The scholarship application can be downloaded here and is due on February 12, 2010.

 


 
2010 Greek Alumni Chapter Young Alumni, Distinguished Alumni, and Outstanding Chapter Advisor Awards

These awards were established to honor Kent State's fraternity and sorority Alumni who have excelled professionally and as community leaders, and have remained actively involved in supporting the value of Greek Life at a local or national level.  Award winners will be honored at the Greek Alumni Awards & Senior Recognition Brunch on March 6, 2010 in room 306 of the Kent Student Center. 

Please nominate an Alumnus or Advisor who has had a significant impact on your chapter or you as a Greek Community member.  To nominate someone, please complete the nomination form and return it by Friday, January 25, 2010.  If you have any questions, please contact Brittney Black in the Office of Alumni Relations at 888-320-KENT or at brblack@kent.edu.
